I grew up with three younger brothers and an older sister, and one year our mom decided that she wanted to build a kitchen garden with a brick walkway. She was able to secure bricks from a torn down building and we were tasked with chipping off the concrete from the bricks.
My dad kept us motivated with packs of baseball cards as payment, and after a few weeks we had enough bricks to build the garden walkway. While the baseball cards may not be worth much today, the experience of working together to build something meaningful has stayed with me ever since.
