In high school, I volunteered at an after-school program for underprivileged children focused on tutoring, playing games and mentoring children. The center provided a safe place for children to go when there was no one at home after school or in many cases, to keep them out of trouble.
It was during this time that I discovered my passion for people. The experience opened my eyes to understanding others, their situations and seeing life from beyond my own personal perspective. It also helped determine my collegiate career path to study psychology and sociology. Understanding people’s behavior and cognitive thinking and forming one-on-one connections is such a part of who I am and subsequently why I am so passionate about helping others and our clients through the ups and downs of their life goals.
