(COLUMBUS, OH) Central Ohio women considering divorce or in the early stages of divorce will want to attend a new workshop that is designed to help them take the next step in the process of untying the knot.
The Columbus Chapter of the Second Saturday Divorce Workshop will launch on Saturday, October 10. A national program established by the Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE.org), Second Saturday workshops deal with the legal, financial, family, and personal issues of divorce in a logical, yet compassionate, way.
With the guidance of trained professionals, women will gain greater understanding of the complex divorce process. The Columbus workshop will be led by Kathleen M. (Kitty) Hedges, CFP®, a financial advisor with Columbus-based Hamilton Capital Management and director of the Second Saturday Columbus Chapter. Hedges has earned the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ (CDFA) designation from The Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™ (IDFA). She and her colleagues will be joined by a family law attorney and a therapist, who collectively will provide women with the knowledge and resources they will need to prepare and protect themselves and their family.
This information is widely in demand. A 2014 study by the Austin Institute
revealed that 20 percent of married women in the U.S. report having thought about leaving their spouse within the past year.
“It is not our intent to encourage the break-up of marriages; quite the contrary. However, we understand that divorce is an unfortunate reality of today, and as women, we face unique challenges when navigating this difficult and emotionally-charged process,” said Hedges. “Second Saturday will provide a valuable opportunity to acquire non-biased, straightforward information and options to help them focus on what they need to do legally and financially, while saving time, frustration, and money.”
The Saturday, October 10 workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Capital Management office, 5025 Arlington Centre Blvd, Columbus, OH 43220.
Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend, but registration is recommended. To register, please visit http://www.secondsaturdaycolumbus.com/
