1. Investment Management Intern - Fall 2017

Are you looking for an internship opportunity in investments that will give you meaningful, hands-on experience?  Hamilton Capital Management is nationally acclaimed and one of the region’s largest and fastest-growing independent, fee-only, money management and advisory firms. We are looking for a dynamic individual to add to our investment management group that manages over $2 billion on a discretionary basis.  The Investment Management Intern will work directly with experienced investment management professionals, gaining proficiency in producing asset class analytics and data modeling, and learning macroeconomic analysis.  For the motivated candidate, this internship may lead to a future full-time position on the investment management team. 

 

Primary Position Responsibilities

  • Assist investment analysts and portfolio managers in collecting economic, financial and mutual fund data from Bloomberg, Morningstar and other reputable government and non-governmental market data providers.  Reorganize and scrub raw data for modeling.
  • Assist investment analysts and portfolio managers by running financial and valuation models for different asset classes and portfolio risks.
  • Provide preliminary analysis of modeled results.
  • Help automate and possibly code regression models and other financial models and analytical processes.
  • Learn and gain access to financial and economic analysis and strategic asset allocation analysis.
  • Learn and gain access to analyzing investment asset classes and sub-advisors, such as mutual funds and ETFs.

 

Position Requirements

·      Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from a four-year accredited college or university, majoring in Finance, Economics, Econometrics, Investments, or Data Analytics

·      Strong quantitative skills

·      Experience in analytical modeling on Microsoft Excel or more advanced software

·      Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

·      Desire to pursue the CFA designation after graduation

 

Hours and Rate of Pay

·      10-15 hours per week with specific days/hours negotiable based on school schedule

·      Hourly rate commensurate with skill level and experience

·      Must be able to work onsite at the Hamilton Capital Management offices
